Germany: Year 2071 is a co-production with Impulse Theater Festival 2016 and Berliner Festspiele / Foreign Affairs.

Nature Theater of Oklahoma invites the audience to join in the making of a retro-science fiction film, a 21st century Alphaville shot over the course of several days set against the backdrop of Cologne’s architecture and the ever-construction-site Berlin. The audience is invited to participate in enacting and envisioning this site-specific performance for the camera, joining the film/performance’s heroes Dorothy and Joseph on a secret mission to Germany. It is a country on the verge of collapse, where extra-terrestrials who look exactly like humans but taste like pork are being imported from other planets for their delicious meat, and newborns are sent off to child-rearing camps in the southern German colonies of Greece. But even such drastic measures fail to revitalize the economy—because all the profits end up in the hands of one clever business man, Baron Bruno. Dorothy and Joseph suspect that he is secretly terrorizing the citizens with the monstrous Swamp Creature, which might just be a fantastically designed carnival float...

Filming will be conducted between June 15 and 25 at a variety of locations in Cologne. The grand finale of the shoot takes place on June 24 at 19:00 at the closing event of the PLURIVERSALE IV at Rheinauhafen. Updates at www.germany2071.de and www.facebook.com/germany2071

Nature Theater of Oklahoma are New York City-based artists Kelly Copper and Pavol Liska. Their internationally acclaimed works have been presented by several festivals and theatres such as Berliner Festspiele, Burgtheater Wien and Festival d’Avignon.

Wanlov the Kubolor and his colleague M3nsa, also known as the FOKN Bois, are stirring up the Ghanaian music scene with their direct rap and its musical love of experimentation. Mixing traditional African music with Rap, Dub and Techno, they produce a high-energy and hypnotic sound which is then combined with fearless lyrics and politically charged humor. Their “Gospel Porn Christian Rap” is full of tightly-worded, provocative lyricism and satirical ridicule—aimed at a planet of targets, but particularly at Christians, Muslims, Rastafarians, Chinese, and whites of all kinds. They thank God they are “not a Nigerians” and are reversing the debt aid gaze in collecting coin donations to “help America”.

The FOKN Bois’ 2010 debut was the soundtrack to West Africa’s first full-length Pidgin-language musical film based entirely around samples of classic African highlife records, Cos Ov Moni. Their rap album FOKN Wit Ewe was released in 2012. The Mixtape FOKN Ode To Ghana followed in 2015. FOKN Bois live in Budapest.
