3. Collection of personal data when visiting our website

(1) When merely visiting our website for informational use – that is, if you do not otherwise submit information to us – we collect only such personal data that your browser transmits to our server. When you view our website we collect the following data, which is technically required by us in order for our website to properly display and to ensure its stability and security. (Legal grounds are art. 6 par. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR):

– IP address – Date and time of the request
– Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) – Content of the request (specific page) – Access status / HTTP status code – Respective data volume that is transferred – Website from which the request comes – Browser – Operating system and its interface – Language and version of the browser software.

(2) In addition to the collection of the aforementioned data, cookies are saved on your computer when using our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive in connection with the browser you are using and through which the site that places the cookie (in this case, our site) receives certain information. Cookies cannot implement programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make internet services more user friendly and more effective overall.

(3) Use of cookies:

a) Our website uses so-called transient cookies (session cookies). Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This applies as well to session cookies, in particular. These record a session ID, with which the various requests of your browser can be assigned to a common session. Thus your computer can be recognized when you return to our website. The session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser. We recommend that you periodically delete cookies and your browser history manually.

b) You may configure your browser settings according to your wishes and reject using cookies. Please note that you may not then be able to use all of the functions of our website.

4. Objection to or revocation of the processing of your data

(1) If you have granted permission to process your data you may revoke this permission at any time. After you have informed us as such, this revocation will affect the admissibility of the processing of your personal data.

(2) Insofar as the processing of your personal data is based on a balance of interests, you may make an objection to its processing. This is the case, if the processing is, in particular, not required in order to fulfil a contract with you, which we will outline in the following descriptions of the functions. In exercising such an objection, we ask that you explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data. In cases of justified objection, we will verify the circumstances and will either discontinue or, respectively, adjust the processing of the data or inform you of our imperative, legitimate reasons why we must continue its processing.

(3) Of course you may object at any time to the processing of your data for the purposes of data analysis. You may inform us of your objection via the following contact information:

5. Newsletter

(1) In addition to the purely informational use of our website you may, upon your explicit consent, subscribe to our electronic newsletter. For the registration process and for the subsequent sending of our newsletter we use newsletter delivery service Campaign Monitor. The address of this provider: Campaign Monitor Pty Ltd., 631 Howard St., 5th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA.

(2) When you enter your email address into the registration form, your email address and the data listed under section 3 of this declaration will be transmitted to Campaign Monitor and stored by Campaign Monitor in the United States and, possibly, in Germany and Australia. Campaign Monitor uses this information for the delivery and the analysis of the newsletter on our account. Furthermore, Campaign Monitor may, according to its own information, use this data for the optimization or improvement of its own services, e.g., for technical optimization of the delivery and the presentation of the newsletter or for commercial purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients originate. However, Campaign Monitor does not itself use the data of our newsletter recipients to communicate with them or pass this data on to third parties.

(3) Campaign Monitor has stated its commitment to adhere to European Data Protection Regulation:
https://www.campaignmonitor.com/trust/gdpr-compliance/. Security measures they have taken can be found here:
https://www.campaignmonitor.com/trust/security/. The privacy policy of Campaign Monitor can be seen here:
https://www.campaignmonitor.com/policies/#privacy-policy.

(4) In the registration process for our newsletter Campaign Monitor uses a “double opt-in” process; that is, after registration you receive an email that asks you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that your registration may be verified and to ensure that no one can register with an unauthorized email address of a third party. The registration is thus also logged. In this regard, the time of the registration and the confirmation as well as the IP address used are recorded.

(5) The use of the newsletter delivery service Campaign Monitor, the logging of the registration and confirmation procedures as well as the execution of statistical surveys and analyses are conducted on the basis of our legitimate interests according to art. 6 par. 1 lit. f GDPR. We are committed to employing a user-friendly as well as secure newsletter delivery system, that serves our business interests as well as meets the expectations of the user.

(6) In order to send our newsletter your email address is required. The legal basis for the retention of your email address for the purpose of sending our newsletter is your consent, art. 6. par. 1 lit. a GDPR.

(7) You may, of course, revoke your consent to the sending of our newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You may unsubscribe by clicking this link, which is included in every newsletter, or by sending a message to the contact listed under the Impressum section at our website or in this data protection declaration.

(8) Please note that the newsletter contains a web beacon. This is a pixel-size file that is retrieved upon opening the newsletter from Campaign Monitor. As part of this retrieval, technical information, like data regarding your browser and your system as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, is collected. A confirmation of whether the newsletter was opened, when it was opened, and which links were clicked is also part of the statistical information that is collected. For technical reasons this information can be traced to individual newsletter recipients. It is however neither our aim nor that of Campaign Monitor to monitor individual users. These analyses serve only to regularly improve the technical services and the newsletter.

6. Use of Google Analytics

(1) Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files that are stored on your computer and make the analysis of your use of a website possible. The information generated by cookies on your use of this website are, as a general rule, sent to and stored on a Google server in the United States. However, if IP address anonymization is activated on these websites, Google will first shorten your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in another state in the agreement over the EU economic area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the United States and shortened there. On behalf of the provider of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website and internet use vis-à-vis the website provider.

(2) The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google.

(3) You may opt-out of allowing the storage of cookies through the corresponding setting in your browser software; please be aware that if you do this you may not be able to fully make use of all the functions of this website. You may adjust the settings of your browser so that it informs you when cookies are placed on your computer. In this way the use of cookies is transparent to you. In addition, you may opt-out of allowing data generated by the cookies related to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the available browser plugin at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

(4) This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizelp()”. In this way, IP addresses are processed in shortened form, which eliminates the link directly to an individual. Insofar as the data collected about you is assigned a personal reference, it is immediately excluded and the personal data is deleted at once.

(5) We use Google Analytics in order to analyse and periodically improve the use of our website. With these statistics we can improve our offerings and make them more interesting to you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is sent to the United States, Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield: https://www.privacy-shield.gov/EU-US-Framework. Legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is art. 6. para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR.

(6) Contact information of the third-party provider: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA; Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Fax: +353 (1) 436 1001. 7. Embedding of Google Maps

(1) On our website we use Google Maps services. This allows us to display interactive maps directly in our website and allows you the convenience of using the map features.

(2) When visiting our website Google receives notification that you have selected the corresponding subsite at our website. In addition, the data mentioned under section 3 of this declaration is transmitted. This is done regardless of whether Google provides a user account that you are logged into or if no user account exists. If you are logged into Google, your data will be associated directly with your account. If you do not want this data to be associated with your Google account, then you must log out before clicking any associated buttons or links. Google saves your data as part of your user profile and uses it for the purpose of advertisement, market research, and/or demand driven design of its website. Such an analysis (even for users who are not logged in) is done in particular to provide appropriate advertising and to inform other users of the social network of your activities on our website. You have a right to object to the creation of these user profiles, and to do this you must direct your objection to Google.

(3) You can obtain further information on the purpose and scope of the data gathering and its processing by the plugin provider in the data protection declaration of the provider. There you can also receive other information on your relevant rights and settings options for the protection of your private sphere: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google processes your personal data in the United States also and complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield: https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

8. Embedding of videos

(1) Our online offerings include embedded videos that are saved at https://vimeo.com and playable directly on our website.

9. Data security

(1) We have implemented numerous technical and organizational measures in order to ensure that your personal data is as completely secure as possible while visiting our website. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological development. Please note, however, that internet-based transmission of data can, in general, have security gaps. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

(2) We encrypt our website according to the currently available technology.
